Community board and meals: the simple connectors

Community connection works best when it follows a simple approach and connects to the reality of Colivers, as well as locals.

Community Board in Coconat

The Community Board is our invitation to learn from each other, rather than from a set schedule. It’s a blank canvas where anyone on site can suggest an idea, share a passion, or simply find like-minded people to join them in doing something meaningful in the moment. There is no curriculum and no pressure — just curiosity meeting opportunity.

Here, the everyday becomes educational: a handwritten note inviting someone for a walk through the fields might lead to a conversation about remote working and the future of rural areas; a spontaneous skills-sharing session could provide someone with new tools for their project; and a film night could evolve into a discussion about culture, technology or care. By creating a space for invitation and participation, we enable knowledge to flow freely between guests, founders, neighbours and residents.

The Community Board nurtures the softer side of learning: trust, confidence, active listening and playfulness. It reminds us that innovation often begins with informal encounters and that community itself is a method: slow, human and full of unexpected sparks.

Food directs a rhythm.

Shared mealtimes form the daily rhythm of life at Coconat. Founders, residents, guests, hosts and team members gather around the table, creating a simple yet powerful ritual of togetherness. Sharing a meal together transforms this everyday activity into an opportunity for exchange, where ideas, challenges and perspectives naturally emerge.

Alongside this informal rhythm, we have introduced the moderated Coco Breakfast: a lightly hosted format that invites participants to briefly share what they are working on, what is challenging them, and what support they are looking for. The presence of a host helps set the tone, ensuring inclusivity and providing structure without pressure. This transforms breakfast into a moment of collective orientation, offering a glimpse into the journeys of those around the table.

Together, these mealtime rituals form a subtle educational approach. They cultivate trust, visibility and mutual support, reminding us that learning happens in daily encounters — one conversation, one meal at a time.

Residencies and programs

Additionally, we have two publicly funded programmes running, both of which include one-month residencies where founders or small teams can stay and work on their businesses for one month. Visit the websites for further inspiration:
